Medicare Advantage (MA) plans
These plans combine Medicare Part A (hospital services) and Part B (doctor's services and outpatient care) into a single plan and come from a Medicare-approved private insurer, like UnitedHealthcare®, who contracts with the Federal government. Many MA plans offer extra benefits beyond Original Medicare at no additional cost.
There are different types of MA plans. Learn more about your MA plan type:
Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans
PPO plans let you choose between in-network and out-of-network doctors and hospitals. These plans reimburse all covered benefits, in or out of the network, as long as they're medically necessary.
You can see any health care provider in the U.S. who participates in Medicare. Your cost share will be the same regardless of whether that provider is in network or out of network! And if you need specialty care, no referral is required.
